      • SANJI went WD/BOW to finish his AKC Championship on Saturday. He moved

      • MESA qualified in three events in level 4 including Snooker, Jumpers (2nd

    • Mesa earned placements in CPE agility, now competing at the more challenging Level 3.
    • Sadie is having a wonderful time learning nose work. She is now training outside with multiple scent items.
    • Beau went for versatility, competing in IABCA conformation, AKC agility, CPE agility, AKC obedience, and AKC rally. He earned 24 points towards a future MACH title and placements in multiple events. Beau earned new titles in AKC agility (MJB) and CPE agility (CL3-F), staying on track for his “Title a Month” target. Then he got ahead of his ambitious schedule by earning his International Championship in IABCA conformation (IntCH), taking multiple Bests of Breed and Group placements.
    • At the Saint Paul Dog Training Club AKC Rally Trial in Saint Paul, MN April 28:
      • BEAU [Int’l/ Am CH LadySlipper’s Top Hat And Tail BN, RA, MX, MXB, MXJ, MJB, CGC, RATO] qualified in the Rally Excellent class earning his second leg.
    • At the Twin Cities Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club AKC Agility Trial at On The Run in Ham Lake, MN April 22-23:
      • BEAU qualified in the Standard Run Sat handled by Karen Sheahan and qualified Sunday in JWW with guest handler Laura Inman for a total of 4 pts.
    • At the IABCA Breed Show in Hutchinson, MN April 15-16:
      • BEAU earned  VC1 (highest possible rating) certificates in all four shows, earning his International Championship. He also had two Best of Breed wins with one Group 1 placement, and one Group 2

      • BEAU  qualified in his Standard Run for 8 MACH pts.
    • At the MMBC CPE Agility Trial in Isanti, MN March 24:
      • BEAU and his Junior Handler Emily had an awesome day qualifying 4 out of 4 events. They earned a Level 3 Snooker Leg and a level 3 Standard Leg both with second place, a Level 4 Colors Leg with a first place, and a Level 3 Jumpers leg with a third place and closing out the requirements for their Level 3 Fun Games Title (CL3-F).
    • At the Wright County Minnesota Kennel Club AKC Obedience Trial in Minneapolis, MN March 12th:
      • BEAU qualified in Novice Obedience twice, with one second place and one fourth place. He also qualified in Rally Excellent in fourth place.
    • At the TCOTC AKC Agility Trial in Minneapolis, MN March 4th-5th:
      • BEAU qualified both days in Standard for a total of 6 MACH pts.

 

March 2017 News:

    • Summary-  Beau earned his 2nd AKC title of 2017: Master Bronze Agility (MXB). He also earned a Double Q and a total of 14 MACH points in Feb.
    • Mesa qualified with a first place in CPE level 3 Jackpot.
    • So far in March, Beau qualified twice in AKC agility and earned 6 MACH points. He also earned 2 Novice Obedience legs, placing 2nd and 4th, and a Rally Excellent leg with a 4th place.

    • At the On The Run CPE agility trial in Ham Lake, MN January 14th-15th:
    • SATURDAY RESULTS:
      • MESA and Betty finished her CPE Level 2 Title with a very solid blue ribbon win in Jackpot Level 2. They also ran Standard Level 3, Q, No faults and 2nd Place, and ended the day with a spectacular 19 sec run in Wildcard Level 3 finishing with a Q, No faults and a 1st Place!
    • SUNDAY RESULTS:
      • SADIE and Betty qualified and placed 4th in Level 3 Full-house to complete CPE Level 3 Title.
      • BEAU  and his junior handler Emily qualified 4 out of 4 events with 1st places in level 3 Jumpers and level 4 Colors, and a 2nd place in level 3 Snooker. The fourth Q was in level 3 Full-house.

      At On The Run CPE Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN Nov. 11th-12th:

      • SADIE Betty qualified and placed in three level 3 events: Snooker-1st place, Jackpot-2nd place, and Colors 3rd place.
      • MESA and Betty qualified with 1st place in two level 2 events (Standard and Jackpot) and qualified in their first level 3 event in spite of a visit to a nearby bar-setter!

    • Gossip (Sonbar’s Tabloid Talk) RAE (rally advanced excellent) at our Club Obedience trial in September 1 pt toward JOR (junior oval racer) at the NOTRA races in October 3rd Q and 4th place in level 3 colors at the Saturday CPE agility trial in November 6th Q and 3rd place in level 3 standards ditto, giving her a new title: CL3-R 3rd Q in level 3 jackpot at the Sunday CPE agility trial, giving her a new title: CL3-S 2nd place level 4 standards ditto
    • Teddy (Sonbar’s Xactlyas Xpected) 1st leg and 1st place in open class at Hutchinson barn hunt trial 1st Q and 1st place in level 3 colors at the Saturday CPE agility trial in November 4th Q and 1st place in level 3 standards ditto 5th Q and 1st place level 3 standards ditto at the Sunday CPE agility trial 2nd Q and 1st place level 2 jackpot, giving him a new title: CTL-2-S
    • Both are on the Basenji Club of America honor roll for achieving “versatile basenji started 2” and “versatile basenji” awards (respectively) this year.

    • At the Wright County Kennel Club in Hutchinson, MN, October 7th-8th:
      • GRETCHEN [LadySlipper’s Here For The Party, RATI] won Best of Breed and Group 2 in the fun match on the 7th, and was Winner’s Bitch in regular classes on the 8th.
    • At the Bales and Tails Barn Hunt held in conjunction with the Wright County Show in Hutchinson, MN, October 8th:
      • GRETCHEN [LadySlipper’s Here For The Party, RATI] qualified in the Instinct test, identifying the rat in 31.68 seconds out of the 60 allowed
    • At the Minnesota Mixed Breed Club CPE Agility event in Isanti, MN, October 16th:
      • SADIE [LadySlipper’s Cavalier Plumed Hat CL2] and Betty Gladfelter qualified in Colors with a third place/no faults. This finishes her requirement for her CL3-R. Sadie and Betty placed 2nd in their level 3 Jackpot run.
      • MESA [LadySlipper’s Blackberry Bramble CL1] and Betty qualified in Full-House level 2 with a first place, and Snooker level 2.
      • These were in a horse arena with dirt floors and horses in stalls along the side of the rings. There was much sniffing while running, and they still managed some pretty fast times.
    • At the TCVESSA AKC Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN, October 22-23rd:
      • BEAU [CH LadySlipper’s Top Hat And Tail MX, MXJ, CGC, RATI, RATO, TN-N, WV-N, NAC, NJC] qualified 3 out of 4 runs giving him another double Q and 12 points towards his MACH title.

    • At the Bales and Tails Barn Hunt Fun Hunt in Clear Lake, MN, September 3rd:
      • SADIE [LadySlipper’s Cavalier Plumed Hat CL2] passed the Instict test, finding the rat in 24 sec out of the 60 allowed. She also qualified in the Novice hunt.
      • SADIE [LadySlipper’s Cavalier Plumed Hat CL2] earned her RATI by passing the Barn Hunt Instinct test in 24 seconds (60 seconds allowed). She also Qualified in Barn Hunt Novice.
    • At the Anoka Kennel Club Obedience Trial in Ham Lake, MN, September 24th-25th:
      • BEAU [CH LadySlipper’s Top Hat And Tail MX, MXJ, CGC, RATI, RATO, TN-N, WV-N, NAC, NJC] and Karen Sheahan made their Rally and Obedience debut this weekend qualifying both Saturday and Sunday in Rally Novice and winning second place Sunday with a score of 195. Sunday, Beau also qualified with first place in his first attempt in Beginner Novice Obedience.

    • Lake Elmo weekend was busy.
      • Friday, Perry and Halo were part of an agility/ obedience demo at the State Fair.  It was a full day of demos and meet the breed, speaking to the public about the Keeshond.
      • Saturday and Sunday at Lake Elmo, Perry won best of breed with a Group 2 in the owner handler ring on Sunday.  Halo was winners dog, best of winners both days.  Saturday he was Best Puppy and won a Group 4.
    • Friday Sept 16th , Perry earned his ACT1 title and Q’d for one leg of his ACT2 at Agile Canines.  This is a beginner agility title similar to the beginner novice.
    • Saturday, Sept 17th at the Rochester show, Perry was Best of Breed and was awarded a Group 3 in the owner handler ring.  Halo was winners dog,
    • Sunday, Sept. 18th Perry was select dog.

      • MESA [LadySlipper’s Blackberry Bramble] ran FIVE events in one day.  She qualified and placed in each one, with 4 out of 5 No Fault runs. Details: Colors Level 2 – 1st place. Q. No faults Standard Level 2 – 1st place. Q No faults. She had the fastest time in Level 2 across all heights !! Snooker Level 2 – 2nd place. Q Wildcard Level 2 – 3rd place . Q. No faults Jumpers Level 2 – 1st place. Q. No faults
    • At the Summer Solstice Cluster in Cambridge, MN June 23-26th:
      • LEXIE [LadySlipper’s Fortuna] was RWB  on Thur.
      • JUNIPER [CH LadySlipper’s Juniper Berry] was awarded Select Bitch on Thur.

    • Gossip (Sonbar’s Tabloid Talk) placed 4th at the Saturday LGRA races in June, ran in NOTRA in June but didn’t place, and achieved “Versatile Basenji Starter Level 2” status through the Basenji Club of America.
    • Teddy (Sonbar’s Xactlyas Xpected) placed 4th at the Sunday LGRA races, ran in NOTRA for the first time and place 3rd (behind national top racers) earning 1.5 GRC points, 0.5 NRC point, and 1 JR point. He also achieved his RATN title at the Saturday barnhunt trials during the Summer Solstice Cluster. And achieved “Versatile Basenji” status through the Basenji Club of America.

    • At South Paws K9 Academy CPE Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN May 15th:
      • A big congratulations to Betty Gladfelter, Sadie, and Mesa on their qualifying CPE runs last weekend.
      • SADIE [LadySlipper’s Cavalier Plumed Hat CL2] and Betty Gladfelter had a great day running two events.  Sadie placed first Level 3 STANDARD with a no fault run. This finishes her requirement for her CL3-R. Sadie and Betty placed 2nd in their level 3 Jackpot run.
      • MESA [LadySlipper’s Blackberry Bramble] and Betty placed first in their level 2 Wild Card run with no faults. They completed 12 obstacles in 20.78 seconds beating out both a Sheltie and a Mini Aussie by a full 5 seconds ! Although not a qualifying run, Mesa aced the tire obstacle in Level 1 Jackpot, which had been her nemesis in a past trial. Proof below!

      • LILAC [GCH/Int CH LadySlipper’s Silverado] placed 2rd in the 8-10 year Veteran Sweepstakes and 3rd in the 8-10 year Veteran class in the RMKC Specialty.

    • At the IABCA show in Hutchinson in April, Sporting Fields Butterfly Fly Away, (Luna) owned by Joy Peterson & Jocelyn Mager received two group 3 and a group 2 wins. Sporting Fields Duz Ur Mother Know (Mia) owned by Sara & Lynda Peterson, received a BOB. Both girls received their International Titles. Son, Nicholas Peterson (Jr), will be spending the summer traveling with his uncle and aunt (Adam & Maddie Peterson) showing dogs.

     Heart of America Keeshond Club Specialties in Kansas City, MO March 11-12: Juniper – Select Bitch. Gretchen – 3rd in 9-12 Puppy Sweepstakes1; 3rd in BBX; 4th in 9-12 Puppy Sweepstakes2.
     At On The Run CPE Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN Feb. 28th: BEAU and his junior handler Emily placed in three Level 3 events: Standard, running 19 seconds under the course time — 1st place; Colors finished Level 3 — 2nd; and Wildcard — 3rd. All were NO FAULT runs!
     At On The Run CPE Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN Feb. 26th: SADIE and Betty Gladfelter ran Snooker Level 3 beautifully until Betty fell at the finish. Sadie finished the course then came back to check on Betty. They placed 2nd with 44 points (needed 30). Sadie ran Jumpers Level 3 with a substitute handler with NO FAULTS, only to DQ by running out of the ring without her leash on, looking for Betty. MESA ran Snooker Level 1 with a substitute handler whom Mesa met 10 minutes before their run. They placed 1st with 51 points (needed 26). They ran Jumpers Level 2 with NO FAULTS and placed 4th.
     At the Northstar Rottweiler Club AKC Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN Feb. 21st: BEAU earned 6 points towards a future MACH title.
     At the Miniature Pinscher Club of Greater Twin Cities AKC Agility Trial in Ham Lake, MN Feb. 13th: BEAU celebrated Valentine’s Day weekend with a “Double Q” performance and earned 7 points towards a future MACH title.

     At The Land O’ Lakes Show — CH. Blue Collar’s MT Mtn Hair Apparent finished his Grand Championship – St Bernard. Blue Collar’s Optimus Prime (Primo) finished her Championship – St. Bernard. Blue Collar’s Patriots Safe Harbor Haven) finished his Championship – St. Bernard and in Feb. he also finished his Rally Novice title. These dogs are all owned by Rob-Lyn & Tim Hiltz & Sabrina Griebel.
     Also at the LOL show Highway Bound For Glory (Ryder) took BOB and a group 4 in owner Handler group.

     Out of the six shows in Kansas (two which were specialties), Ziva made the cut 4 or 5 times, winning BOS twice, and select once.

     Priya got her Novice standard agility title in ASCA and 2 leg toward her jumpers title in ASCA. In AKC she has 2 legs toward her novice standard Agility title and 1 leg towards her jumpers weaves title.

    • At the Minnesota Agility Club CPE Agility Trial at OTR Dec. 6th:
      • SADIE  ran Level 3 Standard and Wildcard events. She was so fast that she beat the Basenji by 6 seconds and the Sheltie by 10 seconds!
      • MESA  ran Level 1 Full House and Colors events. She accumulated 33 Wildcard points in the allotted time on a course requiring 19 points to qualify, and finished her Level 1 Colors requirements, advancing to Level 2. 
    • Nov. 21 & 22nd:
      • At TCOTC AKC Agility Trial:
        • BEAU added 6 more points to his future MACH title quest in Standard.
      • At OTR CPE Agility Trial:
        • SADIE ran Level 3 Jackpot and Jumpers events with no faults and placed 2nd in both events.
        • MESA ran Level 1 Standard and Wildcard events, placing 1st in both. Mesa’s Standard run was the fastest time in Level 1 among all competitors at all jump heights!
    • At Minneapolis KC All-Breed Shows:
      • TREK earned WD/BW for a 4-point crossover major.
      • Gretchen Showed for the first time and conquered the ramp.
